Product Description Q UP: Add Auto-Arm Lift Functionality to Almost Any Manual Turntable The Q UP is a high precision device designed to safely lift your tonearm at the end of the record. Installed in mere minutes, with no tools required, this is an incredibly clever device. Based on a “trigger and lift” design but with a thoroughly modern twist, the Q UP is completely configurable to work with a wide variety of tonearm shapes, thicknesses and heights. The Q UP only interacts with the tonearm at the end of the record; it doesn’t touch the tonearm before the end, so it does not adversely affect the tonal balance or performance of the system in any way. The Q UP is the device audiophiles have been wishing existed for decades, now available at Music Direct! Compatibility The Q UP can be used with most bearing tonearm types from uni-pivot to gimbal, but the Q UP is not compatible with linear tracking arms. The Q UP requires a flat space near the tonearm with approximate 0.55″ (14mm) of plinth space near the tonearm. Also, the minimum height between the plinth and the bottom of the tonearm when playing a record is 1.42″ (36mm). Fortunately, most tonearms and turntables fit these minimum criteria. NOTE: Pro-Ject Debut series tonearms can use a Q UP without its base, all that’s required is some double sided tape to affix the Q UP to the platform. Lifters (Included) There can be great variation in height between the plinth and the bottom of the tonearm, so the Q UP includes three different sized lifters: 10mm, 20mm and 30mm. Easily affixed to the bottom of the Q UP, these give the Q UP great compatibility with a broad range of tonearms without compromising stability.
