The ICE-16 USB Recorder and 16-Input /16-Output Audio Interface by Allen & Heath can record 16 tracks simultaneously to a USB flash drive. Simply plug outputs from an analog mixer (direct outs, inserts, aux buss, etc) into the 1/4" inputs, insert a flash drive and press record. No computer required. The ICE-16 records WAV files at resolutions up to 48kHz/24-bit. Drop them into any DAW and you're ready to mix.
The ICE-16 has functionality beyond live recording. With rear panel FireWire 400 and USB-B ports, it also functions as an audio interface, compatible with Mac and PC. It also has 16 outputs on RCA phono jacks for full routing capability.
The front panel of the ICE-16 features 16 "Monitor Select" buttons, which allow you to isolate channels through the mono headphones bus. You can choose to listen to channels from the input section or output section. The front panel has 1/4" and 1/8" mono headphone outputs with a globally adjustable level. Additionally, the ICE-16 features transport buttons for playback control of audio recorded to its front panel USB-A flash drive input.
Record to USB An inserted USB drive is automatically detected and checked by the system. Starting the recording is as simple as pushing a button. Remove and plug the key into a computer to access or transfer the WAV files to any DAW. Audio Interface Operation Removing the USB stick or powering up the unit without one enables the USB / FireWire interface. Signals present at the inputs will be sent to the Mac or PC on channels 1-16. WDM/ASIO drivers and USB 2.0 class compliance ensure full compatibility with most DAWs. Expansion Sync Multiple ICE-16 units can be daisy-chained over FireWire, or clock-synced via the SYNC port.
